Our company

Halcyon Architecture was founded by Roslyn Calungcaguin to create homes that balance individuality, sustainability, and a deep connection to their surroundings. With over a decade of experience designing homes and villas for US and Japanese firms, as well as project-managing builds in Australia, she brings a thoughtful approach to tropical architecture. Her background in lighting design and her deep knowledge of tropical climates ensure that each home is both practical and beautifully considered.

For clients based abroad, her experience in project management provides confidence that their Koh Phangan home will be built to a high standard, no matter where they are in the world. Sustainability is at the core of every project, with eco-friendly materials, passive cooling, and rainwater collection integrated into each design to create homes that are both comfortable and environmentally responsible.

Sustainability

Sustainability is not an afterthought—it’s at the core of everything we design. Our commitment to environmentally responsible practices guides every decision we make, from the materials we choose to the way we shape our homes to work with, rather than against, the natural world.

Water Management

All our designs include rainwater collection and filtration systems, reducing the impact on local water supplies, particularly during the dry season.

Energy Efficiency

Our designs incorporate passive cooling techniques that take advantage of natural airflow, reducing the need for air conditioning. Solar power integration is also available, enabling you to generate clean, renewable energy.

Eco-Friendly Materials

We prioritise the use of sustainable, low-impact materials throughout our projects, including reclaimed wood and locally-produced materials to reduce transportation emissions.

Preserving Natural Landscapes

We design around existing natural features, such as mature trees and extensive tree roots, to preserve the landscape, enhance the beauty, and promote biodiversity.

If we align, let's talk!
